Exceeding the limits of traditional running, the adidas Adistar Jellyfish sneaker merges the athletic heritage of running footwear with a strongly sculptural, lifestyle-oriented aesthetic.
Design and Inspiration
Born from the archival foundation of the Adistar Cushion 3 model (2005), this design has had its proportions expanded for maximum visual impact. The concept draws its inspiration directly from the exoskeleton effect of the jellyfish, resulting in highly sculptural proportions.
The sneaker features an oversized midsole that supports an upper constructed from breathable mesh. This breathable mesh is further enhanced by casted TPU overlays, creating superpositions that give the model a distinctive three-dimensional character.
Key Details and Collaborator
This visionary design was developed by Pharrell Williams through his alias VIRGINIA. The notable launch of this silhouette took place during a pop-up event in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.
The model is available in a variety of colors, including Orange original, Royal Blue, and Triple Black. However, the "White" version is presented as the model's most refined and versatile expression.
