New Balance continues the legacy of the 991v2 Made in UK, presenting a variation dominated by Insignia Blue. Crafted in Flimby, the silhouette combines its running-inspired roots with premium construction and advanced cushioning technologies featured on this evolution of the 991.
A Refined Classic
The original 991 appeared in 2001 as part of the 99X series. With the 991v2, New Balance maintains the overall lines of the model while refining its proportions and construction to offer a more contemporary interpretation of this running-derived silhouette.
This variation combines a mesh base with premium overlays in a palette dominated by Insignia Blue. Several shades of blue structure the upper, accompanied by lighter details that highlight both the "N" logo and the various layers of the model.
Underfoot, the 991v2 blends a FuelCell midsole with ENCAP technology and ABZORB SBS elements. This technical update is one of the principal differences from the original 991 and complements the shoe's new construction.
Like other models in this range, the U991NA2 is produced at the New Balance factory in Flimby, Cumbria, where the brand has manufactured its Made in UK shoes since 1982.
From 2001 to the 991v2, the silhouette has evolved, but this Insignia Blue retains one of its core identifiers: its manufacture in Flimby.
